Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic orientation is best described as a holistic and comprehensive approach to counseling. When working with an individual, I feel it is important to consider all aspects of a person’s life including social, emotional, and cognitive factors. I find that developing insight about the nature of one’s problems, within the context of an empathetic and collaborative therapeutic relationship, can lead to an increased sense of self, healthier relationships, and a more satisfying life. I believe in the right of each client to be treated with respect and dignity regardless of ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or economic status. I tailor my treatment approach to best fit the needs and desires of my clients. Some of these approaches may include: Cognitive Behavioral, Client-Centered, Brief Solution-Focus, Trauma Focused CBT, and a Faith-Based approach when appropriate. My hope is to help people recognize that life is a continual balance between stability and growth through connection, hope, and assessment of personal experience.
Education and Clinical Experience

B.A. Sociology/Social Work, Seattle University, Seattle, WA 2000
I have experience working with individuals and therapy groups recovering from trauma and abuse. I am familiar with such issues as trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, PTSD, self-esteem, parenting, grief and loss, and life transitions. I am a public speaker and trainer on domestic violence and other related issues.
I have been teaching parenting classes for over 12 years and I am passionate about helping families find their greatness through energizing the strengths, values and virtues they hold for themselves and their children.
Personal Interests
One of my favorite and most valuable experiences was when I lived and volunteered with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries in Calcutta, India. Working with the children in the orphanages, teaching English at the Gandhi School, and caring for the sick throughout the streets of Calcutta, gave me an exceptional opportunity to grow personally and spiritually. I learned first-hand how the power of prayer and hope can give someone strength to move forward through the difficulties life can present at times. As a therapist, I bring those experiences and lessons learned to my work with individuals and families. Personally, I enjoy playing soccer, dancing, going out to dinner with friends, and spending time with my family.
