Therapeutic Approach

Every person deserves to experience love and safety. As a therapist, I consider it an honor to walk along side each person in his or her unique journey, helping individuals find healing and peace. My intent is to provide you with a safe place to share your story and to help you develop and achieve your goals. My role as a therapist is shaped by my Christian faith, my identity as a wife, mother, daughter, adoptee, and personal experiences. I have 16 years of professional experience working with children and families.

My theoretical orientation includes filial and client-directed play therapy, trauma-informed therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family and relational therapy, family systems theory, and solution-focused therapy. This eclectic mix allows me the flexibility to use the approach that best meets needs of each individual client.

I specialize in counseling children, adolescents, adults, and families who are struggling with foster care, adoption, and trauma-related issues. I have had other professional experience working in domestic and international adoptions, adoption searches, school social work, and case managements.

I love spending time with family and friends. It is within relationships that life takes on meaning.  I find rest in the beauty of God’s creation and being out in it. I enjoy reading, good chocolate, and learning from others.
