Formal Education

The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology – Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology

Queensland University of Technology – Master of Business Administration / Brisbane, Australia

Seattle Pacific University – Bachelor of Arts in Music

I studied at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology from 2012-2015.  Throughout this process, I learned that all of us encounter shame in our lives.  Only by facing it can we transform ourselves and embrace who we really are.  I believe that harm occurs in relationships which means that healing also needs to take place in relationships with someone we trust.

In 2015, I completed my clinical internship at Sound Mental Health in Tukwila, WA.  I then worked on the same team at SMH from 2015-2017 with a focus on children and families.  I went to different schools in the area and met with kids during their school day. I also worked with families to process chaos in their family systems and helped them step toward each other in kinder ways.  I am passionate about working with men’s issues, attachment, trauma, and helping others be more authentic with themselves and with others in relationship. I am currently a children’s mental health specialist in Washington State.

Personal Info:

I grew up as an MK (missionary’s kid) in Guadalajara, Mexico.  As a third-culture kid, I understand the unique challenges someone might face while living in a foreign country, losing one’s identity or sense-of-self due to a new culture, and then having reverse culture shock to return home and feel “different.” It is extremely difficult to live between worlds and to not fit in with either a home culture or the culture away from home.  I also have a heart for people who have lost a sense of comfort from spiritual beliefs that no longer feel relevant to internal/external struggles in life.  I can relate to the feeling of being an exile, and have a heart for others who have gone through similar circumstances.

I speak Spanish fluently and can meet with you in Spanish if needed.
