In my experience, individuals struggle most when their actions conflict with their own values and goals; this may appear as self-defeating behavior, or “going along” with what others want. My approach is to help you understand yourself, through focused attention on your perspective, experiences, how you make meaning of your life and what you want for yourself. I support your spiritual growth in whatever tradition you may follow.
Our work will help you remember that you have value equal to that of all other people, regardless of your past, that your concerns and sorrows are legitimate, and that the future is wide open for you to live with a peaceful heart and with consent to your own actions.
Education and Clinical Experience
M.A. Existential Phenomenological Psychology, Seattle University – 2007
B.A. Interdisciplinary Arts and Science/Psychology, University of Washington, Tacoma – 2004
I have extensive experience with grief and loss, life threatening illness, and working with adolescent girls.
My joys are family and cooking, especially cooking for family! My immediate and extended family makes a yearly trip to the Oregon coast in a tradition started by my grandparents before I was born. I love hiking and camping in the magnificent Pacific Northwest.
