We all hold hope and desire of being deeply connected. Because of disappointments and failures along the way, our hope and desire may become difficult to access. My hope in psychotherapy is to walk alongside you and help you re-work those mental structures that are simultaneously protective and limiting so that you can feel safe to connect with yourself and with others, to experience the world with more spontaneity and curiosity, and to live more fully.
My therapeutic style is holistic, empathic, psychodynamic, relational, and interpersonal. Drawing on neurobiology, attachment theory, and object relations, I provide trauma-informed care to help my clients re-work those mental patterns and structures that are limiting. I may also incorporate techniques from cognitive behavioral theory, yoga and mindfulness practices, and psychoeducation to provide clients with skills and tools to accompany our work together.
Education and licensing
I received my MA in Counseling and Psychology from the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2015 and I am a licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA) (MC 60632903). I have worked in individual and group settings with people experiencing a variety of issues and I regularly participate in ongoing professional training and continuing education.
Areas of expertise and interest
I work with a variety of relational and personal issues and mental health concerns, including: adoption and foster care, addiction, trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, self-harm, and more. I work with children, teens, adults, and families. As a military veteran, I also have an interest in working with people who are active duty military or veterans.
I enjoy finding a peaceful place to hang my hammock and settling in with a good book. Walking through the woods feeds my soul. Digging in the dirt and planting gardens brings me joy.
