Every person deserves to experience love and safety. As a therapist, I consider it an honor to walk along side each person in his or her unique journey, helping individuals find healing and peace. My intent is to provide you with a safe place to share your story, and to help you develop and achieve your goals. My role as a therapist is shaped by my Christian faith, my identity as a wife, mother, daughter, and adoptee, and personal experiences. I have 11 years of professional experience working with children and families.
My theoretical orientation includes play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family/marital therapy, relational therapy, systems theory, and solution-focused therapy. This eclectic mix allows me the flexibility to use the approach that best meets needs of each individual client.
Education and Clinical Experience
M.A., Social Work, Roberts Wesleyan, Rochester, NY
B.A., Sociology, Whitworth University, Spokane, WA
Experienced working with children in foster care, school social work, domestic and international adoptions and adoption searches, outpatient mental health therapy and providing case management services to homeless shelter residents. I specialize in counseling children, adolescents, adults and families who are struggling with foster care, adoption, and trauma-related issues.
I love spending time with family and friends. It is within relationships that life takes on meaning. I find rest in the beauty of God’s creation and being out in it. I enjoy reading, good chocolate, and learning from others.
